Tokina 35-105mm 1:3.5-4.3

A couple of close up test shots with a manual Tokina lens.

Let me know what you think.  I will post more from this lens at a later date.  It should be interesting to see if it’s as sharp at 105mm as these close focus shots are.  Thanks for looking, and have a great week.

  1. Love it! I’ll have totake a class some day. Right now I barely understand my point & shoot. I read the instructions, reread the instructions, and I still don’t know what I’m doing LOL. I guess I’m just not very ‘techie’.

  2. Nice close-up pics! Want to get into macro photography again, but need a good lens first … the ones I have don’t let me get as close as I want! Thanks for the like on the blogpost.

    • Thanks, and that’s one of the reasons I began buying and testing older glass. Most amateurs, like myself, can get acceptable results with older cheaper lens. I bought this lens for $11.00 from a local dealer and the results are surprisingly good. Have a great day, and keep shooting.

  3. I enjoyed the two posts on the Tokina lens it takes amazing macro shots. Is it a dedicated macro lens or more of a portrait lens? Excellent shots..:-)

    • Thank you. The Tokina is a short range zoom with a micro setting. I use it as a walk around lens when the conditions are less than perfect. If something happens to it I haven’t lost a lot, I picked it up for very little cash. Thanks for the the comment and have a great weekend.
